Devotion's Interim Principal Goes to Loring Elementary School

Interim principal Steven Silvestri will go to Sudbury, and take over for Jeffrey Dees, who accepted a principal's position in Wellesley earlier this year.

Just over a year ago, Devotion School got a new interim principal, and he is now moving on to Sudbury.  Sudbury Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Anne Wilson announced last week that an interim principal has been hired for Loring Elementary School. In an email forwarded to Sudbury Patch, Wilson said an interim committee comprised of Stephen Wiltshire, Dawn McNair, Susan Lauver, Barbara Cook, and Michelle Titus unanimously chose Steven Silvestri to take over for the departing Jeff Dees. Silvestri has accepted the offer. "I am confident that Mr. Silvestri will preserve all the wonderful traditions, instructional work, and caring that is already in place at Loring and help us to continue moving forward with initiatives in progress," Wilson …

Interim Devotion School Principal Chosen

Steven Silvestri selected as the interim principal of Devotion.

Allowing little time to transpire, Superintendent Bill Lupini has found a replacement for the outgoing Devotion School Principal Gerardo Martinez. In prepared remarks presented to the Brookline School Committee Thursday, Lupini announced that Steven Silvestri has been selected to serve as the interim principal. Silvestri is currently the interim principal at Bishop School in Arlington.   “We consider ourselves fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Steven Silvestri and we look forward to a successful and productive year for the entire Devotion School community,” said Lupini. Now to my way of thinking . . . if the Gene Thompsun-Grove position was so very, very beneficial to the teachers MAYBE the Teachers and or the union could and should fund the entire position to give the tax-payers a break and to demonstrate the unions concern for democratic solutions to problems!
