Tessa Posters Will Remain for Now

Brookline will allow posters for the missing beagle Tessa to stay in place.

It looks like plans to remove posters for Dennis Lehane's missing dog aren't coming down after all. Boston.com reports that Brookline Town Administrator Melvin Keckler emailed Friday afternoon saying the signs can stay in place while a "more coordinated and reasonable approach" is set to help find Tessa, a beagle owned by Lehane. The dog's been missing since Christmas Eve. The town had ordered the signs and posters come down by Saturday because they violated Brookline ordinances about posted bills. That had the pooch's searchers scrambling to find ways to get the word out that the search was still active.

Town of Brookline to Dennis Lehane: Take Tessa Signs Down or Face Fine

The Town of Brookline has issued a request that the Tessa flyers be taken down.

Dennis Lehane’s Finding Tessa page put out a statement: "The Town of Brookline has issued a statement that we will need to have all flyers down by Monday, or be fined. We will leave the flyers up through the weekend, to get as many eyes looking for her as possible. We'll keep them up on community boards, and in businesses that have been generous enough to let us put a sign in their window. We are asking that if you pick up posters or have posters or flyers, please do not post them in Brookline. If you can distribute them otherwise, please do! We will be trying to hand them to people at T stops and any other ideas people have. If people have connections with UPS or Fed Ex drivers or mail carriers, please let us know and we'll get you the …

Finding Tessa Lehane: New Beagle Sightings in Brookline

Help Dennis Lehane find his dog, Tessa.

Dennis Lehane and his volunteer search partiers are regrouping their efforts towards Brookline Village. There have been several possible sightings on Harvard & Aspinwall on December 30 and January 2 and near Griggs Park on January 5. According to the Finding Tessa Facebook page, the sighting at Griggs Park went unreported until late the next day because the caller did not know about the missing beagle until they saw the signs. The sighting at Griggs Park took place around 11:30 a.m.. Tessa went missing on Christmas Eve. Since then, the Facebook group formed to try and find the pup. Lehane has also issued an original reward; he’ll name a character in his next book after the person who finds the dog. Tessa, a black and tan beagle, is very …

I keep hearing Lehane saying "lets keep things in perspective, its just a dog" in the boston globe bit on youtube. I hope Tessa is with folks that get it -- when you raise someone from babyhood to old age & that someone is missing or dead its tragic, a death in the family, like losing a child. Your heart still aches & burns with loss. "Just a dog".....God bless Tessa & all lost pets.   more ›

Volunteers Needed In Search for Tessa

Come by the Stop and Shop in Coolidge Corner or the MacDonalds in Allston tonight to help hand out flyers for Tessa.

Author Dennis Lehane is calling on volunteers to help canvas the Brookline and Allston area with signs for their missing dog, Tessa. According to Lehane’s “Finding Tessa” Facebook page, signs have been disappearing, either by weather, the city taking them down or some other reason.   Two meet-up groups met at the Stop and Shop in Coolidge Corner and at the McDonalds in Allston on Thursday morning. Another meet-up is scheduled for 5 p.m. tonight at the same locations. Volunteers will be provided posters, staple guns and tape.   Tessa went missing over a week ago on Christmas Eve. Since then, the Facebook group formed to try and find the pup. Lehane has also issued an original reward; he’ll name a character in his next book after the person …
