Week in Review: MCAS Results, Hancock Village as "Smart Growth" and West Nile in Brookline

In addition to a Patch live chat about College Admissions Essays, the week also held National Cheeseburger Day and International Talk-like-a-Pirate Day.

The MBTA told Patch that some D Line Service Trouble May be Due to Faulty Equipment. Monday morning, we caught up with The Olmsted Elm, which now Rests in Pieces (of Art), after being taken down last year. An OUI on the T Tracks and the B-and-E Next Door made some of the more notable items in the Police Log. Finally, we started making some noise about our College Admissions Essay Live Chat, which was on Thursday. The last day of Rosh Hashanah was Tuesday, and we found a few Rosh Hashanah Recipes: Apple Cake and Noodle Kugel. The Leaf Blower Ban Lifts Until December 15, meaning police were dealing with other things, like Fireworks and a Rash of Car Break-ins.
