Thursday is Final Day to Sign Up for “Weatherize Brookline”

Thursday is the last day to sign up for “Weatherize Brookline,” a local contest to “save energy and buy local.” Brookline residents living in a one- to four-unit home or building who sign up for a no-cost home energy assessment by March 1st and complete it by April 1st will be entered into a chance to win up to $500 in gift cards to local Brookline businesses. To date, 227 residents have signed up for the program, with 144 already completing home energy assessments between the launch of Weatherize Brookline on November 27, 2012, and today. Winter Contest to Help Residents Support Local Businesses while Saving Energy in their Homes

The following is a press release about the Winterize Brookline contest from Josh Lynch.

Today, in an effort to make homes more energy efficient while helping residents buy local, a coalition of Brookline business and community leaders celebrate the launch of the “Weatherize Brookline” contest.   The town-sponsored Green Homes Brookline energy efficiency program is teaming up with the Brookline Local First independent business initiative to give residents a new incentive to weatherize their homes and buy local. Residents living in a one to four unit home or building who sign up for a no-cost home energy assessment by March 1st of next year and complete it by April will be entered into a chance to win up to $500 in gift cards to local Brookline businesses.
