How Much Snow Will Brookline Get on Saturday?

A second storm is headed to the area and could make driving hazardous on Saturday.

A second storm of the week is headed toward New England and will dump more snow onto the area on Saturday. 7News meteorologists are predicting Brookline will get between 2 to 4 inches of snow in the storm that is expected to start on Saturday afternoon and spread into the early hours of Sunday. The good news is that snow removal shouldn’t be a backbreaking endeavour. CBSBoston’s Todd Gutner said the snow will be “dry and fluffy for most,” though he warned that driving could be hazardous at times on Saturday.

POLL: Is Winter Over?

It's supposed to be 70 today, although astronomical Winter ends in a week's time. What do you think?

When Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow on Feb. 2, he predicted six more weeks of Winter, which ran out last week. However, the astronomical last day of winter is March 19. Some readers have also argued, "what winter?" However, with 70 degrees predicted by the National Weather Service today--and temperatures in the 50s and 60s for the rest of the week--it's easy to think it's already over. What do you think? Is the cold season over, or are we going to be stung with a major snowstorm sometime in the next week?

Nature is beautiful in every season of the year. You just need to know where to look.

It has not been a brutal winter, and over the past few days I could almost believe that spring is here. Still, it feels like every run of pleasant weather this season has ended abruptly in a cold snap or burst of snow—a harsh reminder that this is, after all, winter in New England. Unusually mild February temperatures coaxed the first shoots from the ground last week, only for March to defiantly assert her winter affiliation by adorning the emergent plants with a layer of snow.
