From savory turkey soups to sinfully delicious pot pies and mile-high sandwiches, everyone has their own ideas on what to do with what’s leftover. The Food Network even has an entire recipe collection dedicated to the topic. We’d prefer to hear from you! What are your favorite Thanksgiving leftover recipes? Pumpkin pie? Pecan? A little of both? What dessert did you enjoy the most at Thanksgiving dinner?
What did you serve for dessert this Thanksgiving? With so much attention given to the bird, stuffing and cranberry sauce, dessert might be forgotten. However, some families still adhere to old recipes and labor all day to make a homemade pie. Some bakers are becoming really creative in mixing and mashing desserts, such as the Cherpumple, a monster pie-cake with apple, pumpkin and cherries. Brookline Patch wants to know what dessert you enjoyed the most this year? Tell us in the comment section below!

'Tis the season to take stock and be grateful.
Tis the season to take stock and be thankful. And I am very thankful. Below are a few reasons why, but there are countless more. And for that I am most grateful. My mother’s stuffing. It wouldn’t be Thanksgiving or Christmas day without my Mom’s stuffing. I have four brothers and one sister, and no matter where we all are for the holidays, whether we’re together or spread out across the continents, we all make sure Mom’s stuffing sits prominently on our holiday tables. (I'm also thankful for her sugar-and-spice cookies, which arrive in the mail every December... hint, hint.) My ever-indulgent husband. Case in point: At 12:00 a.m. on November 1 of every year, the seasonal music station on television starts playing round-the-clock Christmas …

Today is the day before thanksgiving. Thaw out your turkeys, pick up your pies and and learn to play some instruments.
The National Weather Service report for Brookline says heavy rain. 100 percent chance of rain during the day, and up to an inch of rain. NWS estimates most of the rain will be before 4 p.m., leading to decreasing clouds by evening. Highs of 43ºF, and evening lows of 29ºF, just in time for a sunny Thanksgiving day. If you've still got yourself a frozen turkey, you'll want to start thawing the bird out today. According to Global Gourmet, left in the fridge, it will take up to five days for a frozen turkey to thaw out. However, placed in the sink with cold water (changed every half-hour or so) will take only 10 to 12 hours for the same amount of meat (roughly 30 minutes per pound). So, if you want to start cooking at 6 a.m., start defrosting …
