2012 State Primaries: The Ballot

Breakdown of the November Primary ballot, and more information on how voting works. Polls open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. today for voting on the 2011 Town Election. Mouse over the map for more information on the polling locations indicated by pins. If you're not sure which precinct you are in, check the "Where do I vote, MA" site and input your address. To cast your votes, go to the check-in table at your polling place and tell the poll worker your street, house number and then name (in that order). They will hand you a ballot and provide you with your instructions. If you are not listed but should be, you need to fill in a "Provisional Ballot." Poll workers will have more information. Fourth District Dems Debate Defense Spending, Candidate Qualifications

The Democrats, who will face off in the Sept. 6 state primary, participated in an NECN debate last night.

As the clock ticks down to the Sept. 6 state primary, Fourth Congressional District candidates squared off for a third time this week in a debate held last night at New England Cable News in Newton. Joe Kennedy III, Herb Robinson and Rachel Brown sat down with NECN's Jim Braude, who hosts the news network's "Broadside with Jim Braude". The 30-minute debate included topics around deficit spending, medical marijuana and what qualifications the candidates brought to the table. To view last night's debate, visit the NECN website. Fourth Congressional Candidates Square Off at Stonehill College Forums

Joseph Kennedy III, Herb Robinson, Rachel Brown, Sean Bielat, Elizabeth Childs and David Steinhof were on hand to discuss jobs, the economy, health care and taxes.

Voters heard a variety of different views from both sides of the political isle Tuesday night at Stonehill College in Easton when Democratic and Republican candidates for the 4th Congressional District squared off in seperate debate forums. Editor-in-Chief of The Herald News and Taunton Daily Gazette Lisa Strattanand moderated the event, which was hosted by the Martin Institute at Stonehill. Questions came from a panel made up of WGBH Boston political reporter Adam Reilly, WCVB-TV political reporter Sean Kelly and Herald News editorial page editor Aaron Frechette. With so many names vying for the Fourth Congressional District seat, there is likely to be a variety of candidate opinions when it comes to the U.S. Supreme Court's (SCOTUS) health care ruling yesterday.  On June 28, the court decided 5-4 to uphold the mandate for individuals to purchase health insurance, the most controversial component of the Affordable Care Act. Former Frank Challenger Ready for Another 4th District Race

North Quincy Democrat and former Barney Frank challenger Rachel Brown announced late last week she plans to run again for the Fourth Congressional District seat.  Brown, 30, announced her candidacy on Feb. 10 and is part of the national slate of candidates for Lyndon Larouche's Political Action Committee (LaRouche PAC). In a press release issued by her campaign, Brown not only challenges Republicans, but also fellow Democrats, saying the country faces "abominable unemployment, dire budget problems, an imminent threat of war, and a clinically insane president." When Brown faced Frank in the 2010 Democratic primary, she received more than 10,000 votes in the district, or roughly 20 percent of the total votes cast.  Along with Brown, …
