Boston University's Olivia Culpo Crowned Miss Universe

The BU community, and the rest of the USA, rooted for the hometown girl as she competed Wednesday night.

  Boston University Sophomore and Cranston, RI native Olivia Culpo has another crown to put next to her Miss USA crown: Miss Universe. Culpo won the Miss USA title in June. She's the first USA woman to win the title since 1997, beating 88 other contestants from around the world at the pageant in Las Vegas. "It's a dream," she said the moment she won. Culpo was wearing a Sherri Hill dress and shoes from Chinese Laundry when she was named a top 16 finalist. In an interview during the show, Culpo said one thing people might not know about her is "I'm really easy going." "Any joke — I'll get it.
