Weekend Work Coming to Beacon Street Green Line in October

Board of Selectmen hear MBTA presentation about two Beacon Street intersections which require full-weekend work.

During last night's Board of Selectmen meeting, representatives from the Mass Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) requested a noise bylaw waiver for the weekends of Oct 15-16 and Oct 22-23, when they plan to make significant repairs to two crossings along the Beacon Street green line tracks. Saying it may be worth "getting it over and done with" the Board approved the noise bylaw waiver. On the 15 and 16, workers will repair intersections at Carlton and Hawes Streets, moving to St. Paul Street on the 22 and 23. C-line service will end on Friday night at 2 a.m. as usual, and resume on Monday morning at 5 a.m. "The scope of the work requires it to be done over the weekend.
