Town Sets up Beacon Street Fire Fund
Following yesterday's fire, the town has set up a fund to help the displaced.
To aid those displaced in yesterday's huge fire on Beacon Street, the Town of Brookline announced today that they have set up a fund with the Brookline Municipal Credit Union. Those interested can mail tax-deductible donations to: Brookline Municipal Credit Union 334 Washington Street, Brookline, MA 02447-0776. Make checks payable to "Beacon Street Fire Fund." Those displaced can contact the Public Health Department with requests at (617) 730-2300. A four-alarm fire broke out yesterday at 1471 Beacon Street, leaving two apartment buildings uninhabitable.
