2012 State Primaries: The Ballot

Breakdown of the November Primary ballot, and more information on how voting works. Polls open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. today for voting on the 2011 Town Election. Mouse over the map for more information on the polling locations indicated by pins. If you're not sure which precinct you are in, check the "Where do I vote, MA" site and input your address. To cast your votes, go to the check-in table at your polling place and tell the poll worker your street, house number and then name (in that order). They will hand you a ballot and provide you with your instructions. If you are not listed but should be, you need to fill in a "Provisional Ballot." Poll workers will have more information. Fourth District Endorsements: Where Do They Stand?

A roundup of endorsements (so far) in the race for Barney Frank's seat.

With less than three weeks to go before the state primary, Fourth Congressional District candidates are touting each endorsement they get in hopes of winning over voters.  The Fourth District seat, which stretches from Brookline all the way down to Fall River, will be open at the end of this term following the retirement from 16-term Congressman Barney Frank.  Newton Patch reached out to the campaigns for all six candidates vying for a shot at the Fourth District seat to see where they stand with endorsements so far. Fourth Congressional Candidates Square Off at Stonehill College Forums

Joseph Kennedy III, Herb Robinson, Rachel Brown, Sean Bielat, Elizabeth Childs and David Steinhof were on hand to discuss jobs, the economy, health care and taxes.

Voters heard a variety of different views from both sides of the political isle Tuesday night at Stonehill College in Easton when Democratic and Republican candidates for the 4th Congressional District squared off in seperate debate forums. Editor-in-Chief of The Herald News and Taunton Daily Gazette Lisa Strattanand moderated the event, which was hosted by the Martin Institute at Stonehill. Questions came from a panel made up of WGBH Boston political reporter Adam Reilly, WCVB-TV political reporter Sean Kelly and Herald News editorial page editor Aaron Frechette. Fourth District GOP Candidates Talk Taxes, Health Care and Gun Control

The three republican candidates vying for the Fourth District nomination debated on NECN's Broadside last night.

Although they had less than a half hour to make their voices heard, the Republican candidates for the Fourth Congressional District fit in a full plate of issues and opinions during last night's debate on NECN's Broadside with Jim Braude.  Sean Bielat, Elizabeth Childs and David Steinhof joined Braude for a series of questions on topics including gun control, taxes, health care and their potential Democrat opponent.  Check out the NECN debate online.  Just a couple of weeks after the deadly theatre shooting in Aurora, Colorado, Braude started off the debate by asking the candidates whether they would support legislation for increased gun control. Fourth Congressional Race Picks Up Fall River Republican

Dentist David Steinhof from Fall River announced

The race to replace retiring Barney Frank has grown again, as Republican David Steinhof, a dentist from Fall River, begins a run on the campaign trail.  A story appeared on the Boston Globe and the Attleboro Sun Chronicle earlier today announcing Steinhof's run.  From Steinhof's website:  People often ask why, as a dentist, I would consider running for office.  The answer is simple.  Our government is broken.  Each and every day I see the enormous stress my patients have to endure in this current economy.  We have all had to tighten our belts while our government continues to spend money we just don’t have.  Steinhof will be running against fellow Republicans, Former Fourth District challenger Sean Bielat and Brookline School Committee …
