MA Dems Come Out of Conventions on a High: Patch Poll

The latest findings from Patch's Red and Blue Commonwealth surveys.

Massachusetts Democrats got more of a confidence boost out of their party conventions than Republicans did: That's the major finding from Red and Blue Commonwealth surveys sent out to Massachusetts Republicans and Democrats earlier this week. An overwhelming 88 percent of influential Massachusetts Democrats surveyed in Patch polls said they feel "more strongly" that their candidate is going to win the presidential election in November. Only 56 percent of Republicans surveyed responded similarly. Republicans also seemed less confident about whether their presidential candidate had gotten into the details of his plans: 45 percent of them were neutral or disagreed with the statement that "In his convention speech, Romney provided specifics on…

DNC Schedule: Elizabeth Warren Speaking at DNC Tonight

Congressman Barney Frank and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino are also scheduled to speak tonight.

Similar to the first night of the Democratic National Convention, Massachusetts will be in full force on the second night. Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, Congressman Barney Frank and Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren are all scheduled to speak during tonight’s session. Menino is scheduled to speak in the 5 p.m. hour, Frank will speak in the 8 p.m. hour and Warren will speak in the 10 p.m. hour. Warren will speak shortly before Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and President Bill Clinton. Gov.   Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick came out firing Tuesday night at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, attacking his predecessor Mitt Romney's record in the Bay State. "Mitt Romney talkes a lot about all the things he's fixed," he said. "I can tell you that Massachusetts wasn't one of them. He's a fine fellow and a great salesman, but as governor he was more interested in having the job than doing it."
