Bicyclist Killed in Accident on Comm. Ave Thursday Morning
Police say the victim collided with a tractor trailer truck.
A 23-year-old bicyclist was struck and killed in an accident with a tractor trailor truck on Commonwealth Avenue on Thursday morning, according to the Boston Police Department. The accident occurred at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday morning near St. Paul Street across the street from Boston University's Agganis Arena. Police said an 18-wheeler truck was making a right-hand turn onto St. Paul Street when the cyclist and the truck collided. Police have not released the name of the man killed in the crash. Commonwealth Avenue is currently shut down for all vehicle traffic east bound from Pleasant street to Saint Paul Street, according to the BU Police Department. Nicely said hunter . . . "BICYCLES DO HAVE RIGHTS" but that doesn't provide much comfort on a head stone. "He Had The Right of WAY" . . . a helmet doesn't offer much protection when you slam head first into the side of a truck!
