Large hail and downpours may accompany storms the next few days.
A stretch of warm and hazy weather conditions will lead to the possibility of showers and thunderstorms over the next few days, the National Weather Service is predicting. Earlier today the NWS issued a flood advisory for many communities, including Brookline, after strong thunderstorms barreled through the area, dropping heavy rain on the region. Isolated storms could build again later today, with the potential for strong wind, hail and localized flash flooding. The chance for strong storms will return on Thursday, with hail possible from the morning through the early afternoon hours. Heavy rain, flooding likely with these storms.
Have outdoor plans for today? You may want to bring some rain gear. The National Weather Service is predicting showers and thunderstorms for later today, which could cause street flooding. Any storms that may develop could also be accompanied by strong wind gusts. There's even a chance for these storms to become severe with damaging wind. Residents can expect storms to start developing after 1 p.m. The forecast for Saturday isn't much better, as more storms with strong wind, and the potential for flooding are also possible.

Severe thunderstorms expected to bring torrential rainfall later today and tonight to Brookline.
The National Weather Service is predicting a rough day for residents of Massachusetts and said earlier today they plan to release weather watches as the day progresses. The first watch has just been issued for flash flooding. The flash flood watch will go into effect at 4 p.m. The region can expect thunderstorms later today, with some being severe. These storms may produce heavy downpours, with 2 to 4 inches of rain possible in these storms. The NWS says this could result in flooding. A flash flood watch means conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Other hazards expected from any severe thunderstorms today include damaging wind and large hail. The National Weather Service says it can't rule out an isolated tornado on Thursday.
Residents in eastern Massachusetts who have plans for outdoor activities tomorrow will want to be wary of the latest forecast by the National Weather Service. There is a possibility of severe thunderstorms both Thursday and Friday, with the best chance of stronger storms in the western part of the state. Some of the stronger storms may be accompanied by heavy rain which could lead to flooding. Residents can also expect to large hail and strong damaging wind, and an isolated tornado can't be ruled out, the NWS says. Highs tomorrow will be in the mid 80s. On Friday, the NWS says the best chance for any strong storms to develop will be in the afternoon and evening south of the Mass Pike.

Damaging wind, large hail possible with storms that hit the area today.
Residents planning any outdoor activity today should keep an eye to the sky for some rough weather. The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Brookline. NWS radar indicated a line of strong thunderstorms extending from Vermont to Massachusetts, moving at 35 mph. Towns between Worcester and Boston will be affected by about 3 p.m. These storms have the potential to become severe and produce damaging wind and large hail, the NWS said. Residents can also expect frequent lightning and heavy rain. Minor street flooding and ponding of water in low-lying areas are also possible. The severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 8 p.m.
