Police believe a Boston woman left Gyu-Kaku with more than just a job offer on Monday. Brookline Police received a call from Gyu-Kaku at 1002 Beacon Street at 12:54 p.m. on May 13 about a larceny that had taken place 15 minutes earlier. The suspect had just come in for a job interview. After reviewing the security footage, the owner saw the suspect take a laptop and an iPhone from a table near the bar and leave the restaurant. These items belonged to an employee. The manager said that he had interviewed the suspect and that she seemed overly nervous. At 8:17 p.m. on May 1, a Trader Joe’s employee told police that they witnessed a woman shoplift from the store, then get on a Green Line Train headed towards Cleveland Circle. Officers stopped the train at Summit Avenue and located the suspect who matched the provided description. The suspect told officers that she had dropped the merchandise outside of the store. The employee said that they and another worker chased the woman through the parking lot, yelling at her to stop. They had witnessed her put items in her black purse and leave the store without paying. The suspect had a bottle of Patron Tequila, four Angus Steaks, two Angus Ribs and three Boneless Ribeye steaks. A Melrose man was charged with possession of Marijuana and a 9mm among other charges after he was pulled over for speeding. Brookline police were conducting a traffic patrol at 10:20 p.m. on April 9 on Boylston Street when they pulled over a vehicle for speeding. According to the police, the vehicle stopped at the driveway of 830 Boylston Street. Officers observed two males in the car. When the officer asked for the driver’s license and registration, the officer reportedly could smell the overwhelming odor of unburnt marijuana. Brookline police officers responded to a report of a breaking and entering on Blake Road at 8:30 p.m. on April 4. The caller did not see the suspect, but reportedly heard breaking glass. At 8:32 p.m., an officer observed a young man between the ages of 18 and 20 in a brown coat with a backwards baseball hat walking down Stanton Street, which is close to Blake Road. When the officer asked where he was coming from, the man replied “Chinatown.” At this point, the suspect took off running eastbound on Stanton Road. The suspect took a right onto Somerset Road and headed towards Washington Street before the officer lost sight of him. Brookline Police Officers were traveling northbound on Harvard Street and observed a grey Nissan Maxima on at about 1 a.m. on March 29, 2013. The officer observed the driver traveling at a high rate of speed, which the officer estimated was over the posted 30 mph. The officer clocked the vehicle from 345 until 487 Harvard Street. The vehicle traveled at approximately 40 mph for the whole distance. The officer pulled the vehicle over and the officer spoke with driver. The officer ran the driver’s information through the dispatch, which showed that the driver’s license and registration were active. A Chelsea man was charged with hiding drug paraphernalia next to a 3-year-old under a blanket in the back seat of his car. An officer preformed a random license query on a vehicle traveling northbound on Pearl Street at about 5:51 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20. The query revealed that the owner of the brown 2007 Ford Taurus had a suspended license. The officer reportedly observed three occupants in the vehicle, a male driver, a female passenger in the front passenger seat and a male passenger seated behind her. A Brookline Police Officer was in the basement of the medical building office at 1180 Beacon Street at 5:50 p.m. on March 21, when he overheard two people arguing in a single restroom. The suspects had the water running, so the officer could only make out certain words, but a male and a female were arguing about how to “split” something up. Based on this conversation and the fact that there is a nearby treatment facility for drug problems, the officer reportedly deduced that illegal drug activity was occurring. At this point, the officer called for backup. After 20 minutes of monitoring the restroom, no one had exited and the faucet was still running. Brookline Police officers responded to a report of a shoplifting at Brookline Booksmith at 4:55 p.m. on March 13. Officers found a woman who matched the description of the suspects on Harvard Street. When a witness pointed out the suspect, the suspect handed a tote-bag to the witness and headed for a white Cadillac parked across the street. At this point, the officer approached the vehicle, with the suspect seated in the front passenger seat and two males in the driver seat and rear seat respectively. Brookline Police were conducting traffic enforcement near 850 Boylston Street on March 4. At about 10:21 p.m., an officer observed a vehicle approaching at a high rate of speed, estimated to be in excess of 50 mph. The officer then activated the radar and clocked the driver at 58 mph. The officer pulled the driver over and asked for their license and registration. At query revealed that the driver’s license was suspended due to a payment issue. On March 1 at 4:46 a.m., Brookline Police Officers responded to a report of a car accident on Winchester Street. The driver was described as a white male about 5’6’’ wearing a tan hat walking towards Commonwealth Avenue. When the officer arrived, the caller flagged him down and pointed towards Corey Road, where the suspect took off running. The officer located the suspect and told him to go back to the scene of the accident. When officers asked the suspect what had happened, the suspect stated that he was trying to turn right on to Winchester Street and hit a telephone pole.
