The Health Department warns of hot temperatures, has issued a heat advisory for today and tomorrow.

Loving the heat this summer? Well, it's continuing today but may reach dangerous levels. The Brookline Health Department issued a heat alert for today and tomorrow, and the Emergency Management Teams are opening cooling centers around town to help residents beat the heat. These centers include the Public Safety building, Senior Center, and Main, Coolidge Corner and Putterham branches of the library. Hours listed in the press release below. Heat Alert Issued for Brookline

After yesterday's Heat Advisory from the National Weather Service, the Town is opening several cooling centers around town.

Heat Advisory Issued for Brookline

Heat indices may hit 103 degrees on Wednesday.

There's no doubt the next two days will feel hot, hot, hot. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Brookline, which goes into effect from noon to 7 p.m. on Wednesday. A Hazardous Weather Outlook was issued last night. With temperatures expected to reach the lower 90s and dew points in the 60s, forecasters are calling for heat indices to hit the century mark, going as high as 103 degrees. A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create the possibility of heat illnesses.
