The University of Massachusetts Boston recently honored 71 freshmen who won the inaugural Boston City Scholarships, funded through a partnership between UMass Boston, the Boston Water and Sewer Commission, and Mayor Thomas Menino’s office. The scholarships can be worth up to $4,000 over four years for students who maintain a 3.0 grade-point average. Three of the scholarship winners are from Allston/Brighton.
