More than 30 Newton and Chestnut Hill residents will participate in this year's Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk.
In just a couple of days, roughly 9,000 people will be making their way down Commonwealth Avenue and Beacon Street in Brookline for the 24th annual Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. The walk will take place this Sunday, Sept. 9 and three of the four walking routes will pass through Newton. The longest route, from Hopkinton Center School to Copley Square, will follow the same 26.2-mile path of the annual Boston Marathon. Once walkers get to Washington Street in Wellesley (Route 16), they will continue into Newton up to Commonwealth Avenue and into Brighton. From there, the walkers will move on to Beacon Street through Brookline and into Boston. Check-in and rolling start in Hopkinton will be between 5:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Parking will be …
