Week in Review: Election Week and Walk for Hunger

Brookline Town Election was this week, electing Kristen Uekermann to the Library Trustee position. The Walk for Hunger also came through Brookline earlier today.

Our poll this week, "Where Should We Take Mom for Brunch in Brookline?" began on Monday. With elections on Tuesday, we also ran a list of Who's Running for Town Meeting Member. In Brookline Police Log, we had a warning about a rash of iPhone thefts near the Boston border. Tuesday was, of course, election day! In addition to our Election Day info center, we re-introducted you to the candidates: Kristen Uekermann and Puja Mehta for Library Trustee. We also learned that Urban Grape plans to open a South End location. Brookline Town Election 2012: Results - Uekermann for Library Trustee [POLL]

Kristen Uekermann squeaks out a victory in the Brookline Library Trustee race, and more results from the Town Meeting Member races.

By only about 40 votes, the unofficial version of the Town Election results show that Kristen Uekermann was elected as a Brookline Library Trustee in yesterday's Town election. In Precinct 11, a write-in campaign secured 28 votes for Shanna Giora-Gorfajn (who is a Patch columnist). In …

Election Day 2012: What's on the Ballot? [POLL]

Today is election day for Brookline, with a town-wide seat open for election, as well as a selection of Town Meeting Members seeking re-election against newcomers.

While a larger election is coming up in November, today Brookline goes to the polls to pick a new Library Trustee, and a handful of Town Meeting Members for upcoming terms.  Patch is here to give you all of the voting info you'll need in one place: When the time comes, go to the check-in table at your polling place and tell the poll worker your street, house number and then name (in that order). They will hand you a ballot and provide you with instructions. If you're not sure which precinct you are in, check "Where do I vote, MA" and input your address, or consult the town's 2012 Precinct Index. Not sure where your poll location is? Mouseover the map to the right. With the exception of one, the town-wide races are not contested. That …
