Who Does Sean Bielat Work For? Now We Know

The Republican 4th Congressional District Candidate reveals the name of his employer, One Click Politics.

OneClickPolitics.com is a website which promises to "Tell everyone in Washington what you think with one click." It is also the internet startup Sean Bielat revealed he heads up, WBUR reported last night. Bielat says he wanted to keep the name out of the race, to keep the website non-partisan.  The website allows users to quickly send messages to members of the House and Senate by picking a topic and headline. Message headlines on the One Click Politics site included issues like "Pass a budget!", "Stand with Israel" and "Pledge to Repeal ObamaCare and Pass Real Health Care Reform."  The Globe reports that the website will have other left-leaning messages rotate onto the homepage.  See the full story on WBUR or The Boston Globe. Republicans should run positive campaigns describing what they will do for the district and country, not negative ones criticizing other Republicans for minor issues no one cares about. What's great is that Sean Bielat's business goals are completely in line with his political philosophy of being a citizen legislator and responsive to the people rather than someone who knows better than they do …   more ›

Massachusetts Democrats Elect Delegates to the Democratic National Convention

The DNC will be in Charlotte, NC, from September 3-7, and local delegates will be there to choose President Obama as the official nominee for the party.

The Massachusetts Democrats elected delegates this past Saturday at statewide caucuses to attend this year’s Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC. Brookline Selectwoman Jesse Mermell was chosen as part of the fourth district delegation, along with representatives from Newton, Needham, Mansfield, Medway and Sharon. In September, convention delegates will cast their votes to officially nominate President Barack Obama for a second term. Massachusetts delegates are selected to the Democratic National Convention by three ways, according to the Massachusetts Democratic Party: Massachusetts Democratic Party Chair John Walsh spoke about the statewide caucuses. “We have elected an impressive and diverse group of delegates who I know will…

Attleboro Man Quits Congressional Race

Paul Heroux says he does not have the resources to compete in what he calls the "campaign-industrial complex."

The field of candidates to fill the Congressional seat for Massachusetts' 4th District has shrunk with the announcement early Thursday morning that Attleboro resident and Attleboro-Seekonk Patch blogger Paul Heroux has withdrawn from the race "I am not seeking the nomination at this time because with limited resources there is no longer enough time to put together the sort of professional organization necessary to successfully compete in what has become a 'campaign-industrial complex,'" Heroux wrote on his campaign site. The 35-year-old Democrat was considered a longshot in a race that includes fellow Democrats Joseph Kennedy III (grandson of deceased U.S. Attorney General Robert Kennedy), Jules Levine and Herb Robinson and Republicans …

Joseph Kennedy III Moves to Greenough Street, Registers to Vote

Currently exploring a congressional run for Barney Frank's seat, Joseph Kennedy III has moved into a Greenough Street home and registered to vote in Brookline.

Just a few blocks away from Brookline High, one of the town's newest residents is gearing up for his run for congress. Joseph Kennedy III is now a registered Democratic voter in Brookline, YourTown Brookline reports. Kennedy formed an exploratory committee for his congressional run at the beginning of the year, and resigned as a Middlesex County prosecutor, but lived in Cambridge at the time.  According to the Boston Herald, the town clerk's office described Kennedy as quiet when he came to register his Greenough Street address, saying thanked them, and left.  "If you had not recognized him, there was no indication he was anyone special," assistant town clerk Linda Golburgh told the Herald. Also currently exploring a congressional run, …

Bielat to Give Election Bid Another Shot

Sean Bielat will run as a Republican in the 4th Congressional District.

After losing the Fourth Congressional District by 11 percentage points to Democrat Barney Frank in the 2010 election, Republican Sean Bielat thinks a second try in 2012 will pay off. "We started something in 2010 and we are going to finish it in 2012," Bielat told a packed room at the Attleboro Area Industrial Museum Tuesday night. The Norfolk resident will face a different opponent this time around. Frank announced in November that he would not seek re-election after 16 terms in the House of Representatives. His final re-election bid against Bielat was his closest since 1982. Frank acknowledged that redistricting played into his reason not to run. For Bielat, the loss of New Bedford and the addition of more conservative towns like …

Bielat appears to be a decent human being. More than can ever be said for Barney Frank, whose arrogance against other human beings was worn on his sleeve everytime he interacted with the public. If Bielat shows the electorate the respect that they deserve in listening to what we need (or don't need) from our government officials, then he may earn my vote. It is early and we need to hear more from…   more ›
