Riverway Park
Longwood Ave & Chapel St, Brookline, MA 02446

One of nine parks comprising Boston's Emerald Necklace park system, Riverway Park is a narrow 34-acre park runningMore the length of the Muddy River from Park Drive in Boston to Route 9 in Brookline Village. Along with Olmsted Park, the Riverway marks Brookline's Border with Boston from the Fens to Jamaica Pond.

Like most of the Emerald Necklace, Riverway Park was designed by Brookline landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted starting in the 1880s. The park also features several historic bridges designed by H.H. Richardson, a Brookline architect who designed Trinity Church in Boston's Copley Square and whose work inspired many other buildings in the area.

Riverway park is maintained by both the Brookline and Boston parks departments, as well as a variety of volunteer-run organizations.
