<p>Founded in 1984, Brookline Access Television operates two cable channels and a variety of production facilities out of its brand-new $1.9 million studio. The new space includes an educational studio and editing suite for Brookline High students, as well as state-of-the-art production equipment, a theater, and meeting spaces available to any Brookline resident.</p>
<p>Municipal programming, including live coverage of the Board of Selectmen meetings, is shown on Comcast channel 23 and RCN channel 15. Public access programming is shown on channel 3 for both Comcast and RCN subscribers.</p> <p>BATV is a private, non-profit organization funded through cable franchise fees. Though not a part of Brookline town government, the organization is governed by nine directors appointed by the Board of Selectmen.</p>
