Girl Scouts Honor Local Leading Ladies

Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts recognizes Leading Woman Stacey Lucchino of Chestnut Hill.

Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts' 20th annual Leading Women Awards will take place on Thursday, Oct 20 at the Seaport Hotel in Boston. This special event takes on additional importance as it is part of the celebration of Girl Scouts 100th Anniversary. 
 
Among six remarkable women, Girl Scouts of Eastern Mass. will honor Chestnut Hill’s Stacey Lucchino, Chairman of the Advisory Board Program in Education, Afterschool & Resiliency at McLeanHospital, Harvard University. Lucchino is a philanthropist involved in numerous local organizations. She serves on the advisory boards of a number of non-profit organizations that focus on quality of life issues, such as Rosie's Place, the Commonwealth Compact’s diversity initiative, Dorchester’s Epiphany School and Boston Medical Center. At Boston Medical Center, she is a board member of BMC Exceptional Care without Exception Trust. Additionally, she serves on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the YMCA of Greater Boston.

Lucchino graduated with a degree in Marketing and Business Administration from the University of Texas, Austin. She received Honorary Doctoral Degrees from Emmanuel College and The New England School of Law. Today, she serves on the Women’s Cancers Programs Visiting Committee and the Women’s Cancers Program Executive Committee. She serves on the North Eastern Board of Canine Companions for Independence helping them to expand their reach into New England through collaboration with the Red Sox Foundation. She is also involved in a wide variety of charitable activities supported by the Red Sox Foundation, including serving Captain of the Red Sox "Team 9" entry in the Pan-Mass Challenge, the Samaritan’s 5k, BAA Dana Farber Team: Marathon, Marathon Walk, and Half-Marathons Run, Best Buddies 100-mile ride & Rodman Ride for Kids.

“Each year Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts honors select female leaders who have made a positive impact in their career and community,” explained Ruth N. Bramson, CEO, Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts.  “The Leading Women Awards is a way for our girls to meet great role models like Stacey and for our supporters to learn how Girl Scouts is creating future women leaders.”

The Leading Women Awards Breakfast brings hundreds of women and other members of the greater Boston business community together to celebrate women leaders, honor our awardees, and to support the Girl Scout mission. Scouting inspires, challenges, and empowers girls to discover their values and passions. Innovation and creativity are at the very core of the Girl Scout experience. The role these women play in the community is a true inspiration to our Girl Scouts, and we are very proud to honor them! 

The prestigious list of honorees includes Joanne Chang, Restaurateur, Flour Bakery and Myers + Chang, Jennifer Tour Chayes, Distinguished Scientist and Managing Director, Microsoft Research New England, Callie Crossley, Host of “The Callie Crossley Show,” WGBH-FM, 89.7, Helen Sayles, Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Administration, Liberty Mutual Group and  Maria Tedesco, Group Executive Vice President, Director of Business Banking at Citizens Financial Group.
