Brookline-JP Pop Warner Team to Compete for National Title

Undefeated Brookline-Jamaica Plain Junior Midget Team advances to the Pop Warner Super Bowl in Orlando.

The scored a decisive win over the New Haven Steelers, 18-0, capturing the New England Regional Championship. They are set to compete for the national title in Orlando, Florida next week. 

The team started the season , and ended their season with a 7-0 win streak. Following the New England Regionals, they stand at 12-0. In order to compete, the team must raise $60,000 for lodging and transporting the team to Florida, so they are asking you to .

With a decisive win over the New Haven Steelers, the Brookline-JP Patriots Jr. Midget team captured the New England Regional Championship and a chance to play for the national title in Orlando, Florida the week of December 4, 2011. After completing their regular season with a 7-0 record, the Jr. Midget team continued its undefeated streak with today‟s 18-0 win bringing their overall record to 12-0.

Thomasina Cole, Interim President of the Brookline-Jamaica Plain Pop Warner Association commented that “This was another history-making weekend for the Brookline Jamaica Plain Football program. These children have worked hard since August and they are all outstanding examples of our mission: 'Do your best and treat others the way you want to be treated.'"

She is pleased with the program‟s most recent success. This was a bittersweet victory for the Program who dedicated its season in .

The Brookline-Jamaica Plain Pop Warner Team currently serves approximately 200 youths from Brookline, Jamaica Plain, and the Greater Boston community. The participants come from varying backgrounds which speaks to the diversity of this programThe next challenge facing this team is raising the funds necessary to send the team to Orlando.

In a time of economic struggle and uncertainty, they must now raise about $60,000.00 in less than a week to cover the travel cost and lodging for the players and chaperones in order to compete in the 2011 Super Bowl in Orlando, Florida. Anyone interested in donating please send funds to:
