One more Brookline name is now officially on the ballot for the fourth congressional district race.
Elizabeth Childs, a Brookline School Committee member, announced earlier this year that she would run for the Congressional seat . On Wednesday, she announced via email and Twitter that she had handed in the required signatures for her name to appear on the ballot:
Childs will be running against fellow Republicans, and in the September 6 primary.
Democrats (and fellow resident) and are also vying for the seat.
Below is the e-mail from the Elizabeth Childs campaign:
One major hurdle passed: today I turned in over 3,200 certified signatures to Secretary of State Galvin's office making my candidacy official! I could not have gotten this far without the kindness and support of people like you!
I also want to let you know that I'll be appearing on WBZ-TV this Sunday morning at 8:30 with political analyst Jon Keller. I hope you'll tune in.
I must remind all our dear supporters that the next critical financial marker is June 30 when we report all donations to the Federal Election Commission. Any donation you can make so it's received PRIOR to that date would be incredibly appreciated. It's important that we raise enough support to launch our camper tour of the district and show strength for our message of unifying people around SOLUTIONS and holding Washington accountable.
Thanks for all your support!
