Brookline MBTA Cuts Meeting Upcoming, Selectmen Hosting

Brookline's Selectmen will hold their own MBTA cuts meeting, Feb. 29 at 6 p.m. at the High School.

Feb. 29, 6 p.m. at the , the Board of Selectmen are to discuss the impact of possible cuts to the MBTA. At a previous meeting, they voted to request a meeting with the MBTA, and have organized the upcoming one while they await a response. 

The Selectmen announced last night the time and date of a meeting in response to the , to hear concerns of residents about . 

In the past, members of the Board have commented they find it strange Brookline wasn't included in the list of public meetings with the MBTA. The next scheduled meeting is tonight at 6 p.m. at the , 200 Heath Street in Jamaica Plain.

 at the MBTA's first meeting about the cuts. In January, some Watertown residents asked . , saying he is "dismayed" by the cuts to South Brookline. 

Selectman Chair Betsy DeWitt said that more details are to follow, but the room has been booked. The Board will bring concerns shared at that meeting to the MBTA.
