Brookline Considering Expanding Schools

HMFH Architects of Cambridge told the B-SPACE meeting that there is room for expansion at the Baker, Driscoll, Lawrence and the Heath School.

According to the Boston Globe, HMFH architect Philip Lewis said that the Driscoll, Lawrence and Heath School were the best locations to expand on, and that the project would cost $160 million, $50 million of which would be covered by the state.

Since the ’04-’05 school year, the student enrollment has increased by 25 percent, especially in the lower grades.

HMFH Architects presented their plans to the Board of Selectmen on Tuesday, July 23. At that time, they had identified three places for a new school site.
