Two Suspects At Large from Tuesday Night Stabbing

Police are asking anyone with information to contact their offices.

Brookline Police and Boston University Police Departments are working together to gather information on the robbery and stabbing that occurred at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

A Boston University employee was attacked and robbed of his iPad and other items by two males on Pleasant Street near the intersection of of Browne Street. The victim was knocked down and stabbed by his attackers. The victim was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The suspects are described as standing anywhere from 5’10’’ to 6’0’’ with average build, wearing blue jeans and sweatshirts or fleece jackets. The suspect’s faces were both covered by dark knitted hats.

Boston University Police Chief Thomas Robbins recommended that if you are confronted with physical violence or the threat of violence, it is best not to resist or fight back unless your safety is in immediate danger.

Robbins said that the recent robberies near the B.U. campus suggest that the suspects target people carrying electronic items like iPads, iPods and iPhones.

In a campus safety message, Robbins gave the following tips to keep yourself safe: 

  • Always be aware of your surroundings, whether on or off campus and if you see something suspicious say something by reporting it immediately to the police.
  • Report suspicious persons and activity immediately to 9-1-1 or the Boston University Police Department by calling 617-353-2121 or by texting to 847411 Keyword: BU (text message reports may be made anonymously)
  • Walk with others whenever possible, especially at night;
  • Do not use smart phones, iPads, and other electronic devices, including ear buds or headphones while walking on the street, especially at night;
  • If you don’t have anyone to walk with at night, use the escort security service by calling 617-353-4877
  • Safeguard your valuables by keeping them out of sight.
