State Police Setting Up Sobriety Checkpoint in Norfolk County

A checkpoint will be set up on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend, say state police.

This is an edited excerpt from a press release from the Massachusetts State Police:

Col. Marian J. McGovern, superintendent of the Massachusetts State Police, announced that a "Sobriety Checkpoint" will be implemented by the State Police on an unnamed public road in Norfolk County this coming weekend.

The purpose: to further educate the motoring public and strengthen the public’s awareness about the need to detect and remove motorists who operate under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs from the road.

McGovern says the checkpoint will be operated during varied hours and the selection of vehicles will not be arbitrary.
