Power Knocked Out to Nearly 3,000 in Brookline

NSTAR reported about 11 percent of town had power knocked out Tuesday night; service was restored by about 10:45 p.m.

A big power outage hit Brookline Tuesday night.

NSTAR reported there were 2,709 customers without power as of 10:20 p.m. That figure represented about 11 percent of the town. Power was restored to nearly all those customers by about 10:45 p.m.

The outage hit a large section of Coolidge Corner.

WBZ's David Rothstein reported the outage was due to an underground failure in the area of Beacon Street.
