Police: Suspect Stole $1,167.00 in Armed Robbery

The following information was supplied by the Brookline Police Department. Charges listed to not imply conviction.

 

Thursday, December 6 at 11:02 p.m.: Officers responded to an armed robbery at Mall Discount Liquors at 525 Harvard Street. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the employees, who stated that just before closing time, the suspect entered the store through the front entrance and locked it. The suspect then brandished a black semi-automatic pistol and ordered everyone behind the checkout counter to lie on the floor. The suspect then demanded that one of the employees fill a plastic bag with all the cash in the register. Once the bag was filled, the suspect ordered the employee to lie down. The suspect then took off. Officers watched the security footage while detectives dusted for fingerprints. According to the sales report, the suspect got away with $1,167.00. This investigation is ongoing.

Friday, December 7 at 11:23 p.m.: Officers responded to a reported of an unwanted guest at the Starbucks on Harvard Street. The supervisor told officers that the store was closed, but someone had been in the bathroom since about 10 p.m.. The supervisor reportedly knocked on the bathroom door several times to inform the suspect that the store was closing. When the officers knocked on the door, the suspect opened the door, demanding to know what they wanted. The suspect had his hands jammed in his pockets. Officers asked what the suspect what he had on him, to which the suspect replied “a pocket knife.” Officers frisked the man and found a cigarette box with damaged cigarettes and a small plastic bag of a powdery substance and a small bag of what appeared to be marijuana. Police asked where this pocketknife is, but the suspect did not know. Tamir Mohamed, 31, of 55 Brentwood Street, Allston was arrested and charged with possession of a Class B substance.

Saturday, December 8 at 12:47 p.m.: Officers responded to reports of shoplifting at 525 Harvard Street. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the security staff at TJ Maxx, who said the suspect had not taken anything out of the store. The security observed the suspect place items into a bag. As the suspect headed towards the exit, the suspect ditched the bag by exit. Police determined that nine items, valued at $156.91 had been stolen. Christina Albino, 33, of 31 Burbank Street, Boston was arrested and charged with shoplifting.

 

Sunday, December 9 at 2:15 a.m.: Officers observed a red Toyota Camry with foggy windows parked near the intersection of Harvard and Stedman Street. Police reported that half of the vehicle was parked in a handicap spot, while the other half was blocking the driveway of the Devotion School. Police fired up their searchlight and found three occupants in the car. One of the occupants was identified as Gregory Niles, 22, of 105 Evans Street, Boston, who had a warrant out for his arrest out of Natick District Court. Police placed Niles under arrest for the straight warrant.
