Police: Rash of Burglaries and Larcenies This Week

This is a weekly roundup of local police instances.

The following information was supplied by the Brookline Police Department's blog.

 

Larceny on Beacon Street: At about 10:32 a.m. on August 1, a caller reported that someone stole his golf bag, clubs and a jet boat control module, which were left outside for a brief period of time. The caller talked to his neighbors, but there were no witnesses. This investigation is ongoing.

Larceny on Freeman Street: Officers responded to a report of a past larceny between 3:50 to 5 p.m. on July 30 on Freeman Street. The victim told police that her son received a phone call from an unknown party, saying he had her cell phone and would leave it for her at the front desk of Dexter Park. When the victim attempted to claim her phone, she was told that someone had already picked it up. This matter is currently under investigation.

Breaking and entering a car on Buckminster Street: Officers responded to a report of a past breaking and entering of a car on Buckminster Road about 8:40 a.m. on July 29. The victim told police that he left his car unlocked in the driveway of his home overnight. The next day, the victim found their glove box open and several items were missing. This matter is currently under investigation.

 

Burglary on Dean Road: Officers responded to a report of a breaking and entering on Dean Road, which occurred at some point between 8:15 a.m. and 4 p.m. on July 26. Officers determined that the suspect gained entry through a smashed bedroom window. Several bedrooms were ransacked and money and jewelry were reported missing. This matter is currently under investigation.

 

Burglary on Aspinwall Avenue: Officers responded to a report of a breaking and entering on Aspinwall Avenue. This breaking and entering occurred at some point between July 24 at 7:30 a.m. to July 25 at 9:30 p.m.. The bedroom window was opened by force, but nothing was missing. A resident in the building reported hearing someone moving the window at about 4 a.m. on July 25. This matter is currently under investigation.
