A Brookline Police Officer was monitoring Brookline Avenue from the parking lot of the Lynch Research Center at about 9:32 p.m. when two people went by on a scooter heading towards Washington Street. The driver was wearing a full-faced yellow helmet, but the passenger wasn’t wearing a helmet.

Officers saw significant damage on the scooter and the ignition was completely damaged. Officers ran the scooter’s vehicle identification number and saw that it had been reported stolen out of Cambridge.

Officers noted that the two riders had the similar stories. Officers searched Kady’s backpack and found an iPad, tools and two orange prescription bottles. Officers also loose red and white pills in one of the orange pill bottles. Kady was charged with two counts of possession of a Class E substance.
