Intoxicated Driver Strikes Island on Beacon Street, Cops Say

Police also investigating an attempted break-in on White Place.

The following are excerpts from the Brookline police log this month:

  • On July 11, an officer was conducting general patrol along Washington St and Harvard St. By random query of registration, the officer was informed that the owner of the vehicle had a revoked license. The individual was placed under arrest for operating with a revoked license.
  • On July 11, officers observed a vehicle drive through a red light at Beacon St and St Paul St. Officers initiated a stop and asked for the driver’s license and registration. The driver’s license was suspended and the driver was placed under arrest.
  • On July 11, an officer responded to a call for a larceny of a license plate at Rice St. The individual’s car was parked on Centre St when he noticed his license plate was removed. The matter is under investigation.
  • On July 12, an officer was conducting traffic enforcement at Middlesex Rd and Circuit Rd and observed a vehicle drive through a stop sign. An officer initiated a stop and was informed the individual’s license was suspended. The individual was summonsed to Brookline District Court.
  • On July 12, an officer responded to Harvard St for a report of damage to a building. The individual believes that an object was thrown through the window of the door which notified the alarm company. Entry was not gained as a result. The matter is under investigation.
  • On July 13, an officer observed a vehicle hit a traffic island while attempting to take a left turn along Beacon St. The individuals stepped out of the vehicle and appeared to be intoxicated. Based on observations, the driver was placed under arrest.
  • On July 13, an officer responded to a report for two attempted breaking and entering along White Pl. Upon arrival to the first residence, it appeared that the front door had been forced open but no entrance was made. The second residence had a screen that appeared to be tampered with. No entrance was made into the residence. The matter is under investigation.
