Brookline Man Pleads Not Guilty to Gun Cache Charges

Richard Becker pled not guilty to 39 gun charges. Dangerousness hearing set for next week, June 20. Access granted for undisclosed medical attention.

Brookline resident Richard Becker, who faces , was been ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing.

Becker, 55, was arraigned in  on Thursday, June 14 and is scheduled to next appear on June 20. He pleaded not guilty during the hearing, according to his attorney. His attorney also requested Becker have access to medical treatment. 

Becker was arrested on Monday, June 11 after executed a search warrant at his 181 Harvard St. home, where , thousands of rounds of ammunition, silencers, and high-capacity magazines.

Police also say that he was "totally off of [their] radar," and that they had initially become aware of him after a request to check on his well-being. After that, they determined that he had two outstanding warrants for missed jury duty, and police learned he had a gun license which expired in the late 1990s. At that time, he had 18 guns registered to him, and no indication that the guns had left his possession in the years since. 

Becker will be held without bail until next week's dangerousness hearing.
