Car Stuck on T Tracks in Brookline

Early Monday morning, a vehicle was stuck on the Green Line near Coolidge Corner.

Monday at 1:15 a.m., a white sedan got stuck on the tracks outside of Lenscrafters in Coolidge Corner.

According to a report from the MBTA police, a 22-year-old Attleboro woman drove onto the T tracks and got stuck. There was no damage to the vehicle, and the driver was uninjured, but the vehicle had stopped moving near the Coolidge Corner intersection of Harvard and Beacon Streets.

The woman told police that she had been looking at her GPS and not paying attention to the road, when the device told her to turn left onto Beacon Street. She missed the road, and started driving along the tracks, inbound. She says a passer-by told her she was fine, and to keep going until the next intersection.

She then reached a point where she couldn't go forward or backward, which is when and MBTA police arrived on the scene. The driver was cited with a left turn violation and impeded operation.

[Update: A previous version of the article incorrectly noted the incident happened this morning, when it happened yesterday morning. This has been corrected. 10:30 a.m.]
