Brookline's Serial Flasher—Convicted 11 Times—Going to Prison

John Beyers admitted to "a decades-long history of exposing himself."

John Beyers, a 68-year-old sex offender and serial flasher, will spend the next three years in prison after he was convicted of exposing himself to children at Brookline's Coolidge Corner Library.

Since 2001, Beyers has 11 convictions for exposing himself in public, according to the state's sex offender registry.  In 2010, he was arrested after exposing himself to passengers on a MBTA subway car. He also has convictions out of Connecticut.

Beyers admitted to exposing himself to children at the Coolidge Corner library on Sept. 21 and 26, 2013. At the time, he was on probation.

"Beyers acknowledged a decades-long history of exposing himself," the Norfolk District Attorney's office said in a statement.

Beyers was charged with open and gross lewdness, which has a maximum penalty of 36 months in state prison. This week, a judge ordered him to serve 30 to 36 months, with 5 years probation.
