  • Before midnight on Friday, 73 Parkman Street reported a vehicle had been broken into and entered. The owner said that her window had been smashed, and a phone was missing.
  • Police received a call about suspicious activity at the Commonwealth Avenue CVS location, about 1:30 p.m. When officers responded to the scene, they were told of two suspects, one of whom had left the store already, and Agane. Staff say the two attempted to return facial cleaners and toiletries without a receipt. During a pat frisk, police found eleven syringes, of which four were used. He was arrested and charged with shoplifting, and told police that he only knew the first name of the other subject.
  • A man who had driven someone to Beacon Street told police that his wallet was missing after dropping him off. He told police that, before noting it gone at about 2:45 p.m. Saturday, he had left it in the center console. The suspect was described as a white man in his twenties or thirties, with black hair and beard, wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans, and dark sneakers, and he was carrying a tan back pack.
  • A Vernon Street woman told police that her bag had been opened, and her wallet was missing when she looked at about 6:30 p.m. She had been in the Coolidge Corner area earlier in the day, and that two fraudulent charges were made to her card.
  • At about 3 a.m. on Sunday, two Boston University students were walking home along Hamilton Road when two men stopped them and relieved them of their phones at gunpoint. Brookline Police say the suspects took a wallet and an iPhone from one and cash from the other, after showing a black semi-automatic weapon to them. The descriptions released on the Brookline police blog indicate there were two suspects. One described as a black male about 5'4" to 5'5" tall and about 16-years-old, wearing a white zippered swearshirt, blue jeans and a red baseball cap. The other is said to be a black man in his early 20s, about 5'8" to 5'9" tall, wearing a blue vertical-striped polo shirt with long sleeves, blue jeans and a dark blue baseball cap.
Editor’s Note: Boston University and Brookline police say it is still too early to tell whether this incident is connected to the similar incident reported on Tuesday.

  • Police were sent to a monastery on Warren Street at about 10 a.m. Saturday, where a man was reportedly inside, waving a flashlight threateningly, yelling and demanding his money--according to a witness. When police tried to speak with him, he refused to put his flashlight down, and started walking toward one of the two officers. Perceiving the approach as aggressive, the officer struck the man in the hand with his baton, knocking the flashlight to the ground. Police then took control of him and walked him out of the monastery. Officers learned he had been at the church earlier in the week and donated some money, a large gift which was initially turned down, but ultimately accepted by the church. He was arrested and charged with home invasion, armed robbery, three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon (the flashlight), and was transported to Beth Israel hospital for treatment to his hand.
  • An Amoy Street man reported that someone broke the rear window of his car at about 10 p.m. on Saturday night. He was in his car at the time, turning onto the street when he heard a loud bang from the back of the car. He did not see anyone before or after the break.
  • Police arrested a man, charged with assault-and-battery, from 32 Centre Street at about 10 p.m. on Sunday. The suspect was described as a 6' tall blonde white man with brown eyes, wearing a short-sleeved shirt and navy basketball shorts.
