Brookline Police Log: Service Station Armed Robbery

The following incident report is based on Brookline Police Department dispatch logs for Oct. 31 through Nov. 1. Look for weekday incident reports twice a week, and arrest logs each Tuesday on Brookline Patch. Suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

• Police investigated a report of potential fraud reported by an Elm Street resident before 10 a.m. Wednesday. The caller said that large deposits were being made into a checking account, and was concerned he may have been a victim of exploitation, or that checks were being forged. Police are investigating the incident, and have identified the person making the deposits.
• Breaking-and-entering reported before 11 a.m. Wednesday, at 61 Park Street. 
• 13 Jefferson Street, report of a bike stolen on Wednesday before 12:30 p.m.
• A Harvard Street store reported that an employee had taken money from the store along with a male subject. The duo allegedly made fraudulent transactions from the register. Police checked the employee and learned she had an outstanding warrant, for which she was arrested and additionally charged on two counts of larceny at about 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Police have not yet found the male suspect, but describe him as a white male, average build, in his 20s with short dark hair.
• 7 p.m. on Wednesday, a woman was arrested and charged with theft at TJ Maxx on Harvard Street.
• A theft report was filed at about 10 p.m. on Wednesday, from 90 Naples Road.
• License plate theft recorded on Thursday morning at about 10:45 a.m.
• Breaking-and-entering reported on Thursday, at about 12:30 p.m. on Norfolk Road.
• Police arrested a man and charged him with shoplifting on Thursday at about 5:30 p.m. from the Stop and Shop on Harvard Street.
• At around 9:30 p.m. Thursday night, a Harvard Street service station was reportedly robbed at gunpoint. A brother and sister were locking up at Shimon's Service Station, according to the Brookline Police Blog, when they were approached by a man with a handgun and a red handkercheif over his face. He entered the store and flashed the gun, then demanded money. Police reports indicate that the call was made from a back room, where the caller had been locked after the incident.The suspect was described as a black man in his late teens or early 20s, about 5'7" or 5'8" tall with a thin build, wearing a white hoodie, blue jeans, and a red handkerchief covering his face. The incident log also notes he had a black backpack with white lettering along the straps that spelled TRIAMODUM. 

• Before 9 a.m. Wednesday, police took a complaint of turkeys at 120 Rawson Road.

• Three reports of wires coming down came in during the day, Griggs Road at 9 a.m., Whitney and Clyde streets at 3 p.m., and about 6 p.m., on Bonad Road. 
• Police took a report of wires down at Beaconsfield and Franklin Streets and Ackers and Eliot Streets around 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
• Vehicle reportedly damaged on Harvard Place at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday. A woman reported that her passenger side front window was broken, but nothing was taken or tampered with.
