Brookline Police Hunting for Bank Robber Who Thanked Teller, Apologized

The suspect is wanted in connection with three bank robberies in recent months.

Brookline police are hunting for a suspect who robbed Eastern Bank twice in the last two months.

On Tuesday at about 3 p.m., police said the man robbed the Harvard Street bank armed with a black handgun. He banged the gun on the counter, pointed it at the teller, and demanded cash. After he got the cash, he apologized to the tellers and thanked them, police said.

The suspect was described as a white male in his 30s. Police said he robbed the same bank on May 9. He's also suspected in a Nov. 20 robbery at Citibank on Harvard Street.

Anyone with information is asked to call Brookline police at 617-730-2222.
