Brookline Police Craigslist Sting Nets 3 Arrests

Men from Brookline, Waltham, and Rhode Island were arrested last month.

Brookline police charged three men with enticing a child after they organized a sting operation on Craigslist.

On June 22, officers posted an ad on the site's "casual encounters" section, which is typically used to arrange sex meetups. The ad suggested an underage girl was seeking "groups of men."

Police said the three men arranged to meet the fictitious girl at a location on Walnut Street. When they showed up, were arrested on the spot. Police identified them as:

  • John Powers, Jr., 30, of 206 Freeman St., Brookline
  • Osher Galibov, 25, of 14 Dexter St., Waltham
  • Seth Medeiros, 25, of 207 Hines Rd., Cumberland, Rhode Island
All three were charged with enticement of a child. Medeiros was also charged with marijuana possession after police said they found him with a small glass jar of pot.
