Brookline Man Arrested in Wellesley by State Police and Brookline Police

The following information was supplied by the Brookline Police Department. Charges listed do not imply convictions.

January 24

6:11 p.m.: At the intersection of Brookline Avenue and Washington Street, an officer observed a driver fail to stop for a red light as they headed east on Washington Street. The officer pulled the vehicle over and asked the driver for their license and registration. The driver gave the officer his registration and his learners permit. The officer told the man that the learners permit did not give him the right to drive. The officer arrested Ahmed Elbaloula, 23, of 9 Lambert Street, Boston and charged him with operating without a license and failing to stop for a red light.

January 25

8:26 a.m.: Members of the Massachusetts State Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit, the Wellesley Police and Brookline Police cooperated to serve an arrest warrant out of the Brookline District Court for the charge of larceny from a building and fraudulent use of a credit card under $250. Officers arrested Todd Boyd, 34, 20 Boulder Road, Wellesley.

5:00 p.m.: While conducting traffic enforcement on Washington Street at Evans Road, the officer observed a speeding vehicle heading his way on a 20 mph road. The officer clocked the driver at a speed of 38 mph. The officer pulled the vehicle over and asked for the driver’s license and registration. The driver gave the officer the vehicle’s registration, but did not have a license. The officer arrested Arlindo Santos, 27, of 1575 Commonwealth Avenue and charged him with speeding and for not being duly licensed.

6:10 p.m.: An officer observed a driver make an illegal U-turn on Harvard Street. The officer pulled the vehicle over and asked for the driver’s license and registration. The driver produced a U.S. and Venezuelan passport. The officer ran a query on the man and found that he had two outstanding warrants for his arrest, which was confirmed through dispatch. One warrant was out of Worcester District Court and the other was out of Boston District Court. The officer arrested Freddy Hernandez, 23, of 1748 Beacon Street.
