Brookline Arrest Log: Reported B&E Leads to Drug Arrest

The following information was supplied by Brookline Police Dept. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following arrest report is based on Brookline Police Department reports for Sept. 24 through 27. Look for weekday incident reports each Saturday, weekend reports each Monday, and arrest logs each Tuesday on Brookline Patch. Suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

Wednesday, Sept. 26

  • Shoplifting – Kelly Turner, 40, of Cambridge, and John Yobaccio of Waltham, 45. An officer in Coolidge Corner was approached by a Beacon Street Walgreens employee who reported that a man and woman had stolen a few items from the store. The witness identified the woman, who had gone into the Body Shop on Harvard Street, and a man who they saw coming out of the CVS. Police identified the two as Turner and Yobaccio, and looked through their possessions. They found a number of Red Bull cans, a magazine, cair clips, and in Turner’s purse, they found a number of items from the Body Shop. Body Shop employees confirmed that she had not made any purchases. The total of items taken from Walgreens was about $15, and from the Body Shop, about $32. The two were arrested and charged with shoplifting just before 1 p.m.

  • Straight warrant – 51-year-old Henry Leo of Cambridge. Brookline officers assisted the Medford, Somerville and Cambridge police departments with an arrest on Playstead Road in Medford at about 4:15 p.m. He was arrested and charged on the Brookline warrant for two counts of daytime breaking-and-entering, two counts of larceny from a building--police say these were connected to a June 30 and an Aug. 4 incident at 60 Tappan Street. When police searched his home, they located a lock pick set hidden inside a double-backed fake credit card under the name James Bond.
