Brookline Arrest Log: December 26 - January 2

The following arrest report is based on reports for Dec. 26 through Jan. 2. Look for weekday incident reports each Saturday, weekend reports each Monday, and arrest logs each Tuesday on Brookline Patch. Suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

• Warrant arrest - Warren Perry, 58, of Miami, Florida, was stopped at a Harvard Street in Coolidge Corner when officers ran the Florida plates on his vehicle and determined he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Officers arrested and charged him on said warrant.
• Larceny of property over $250 – 18-year-old Gerald Richardson, Jr, of Dorchester. A family in Brookline had taken Richardson in during what they called a "rough" time with his family. While they visited friends and family over Christmas day, he stayed at the house--during which time, the home experienced a break-in, and a laptop and digital camera were reported missing. Police officers were taking a report of that incident, and learned that Richardson planned to visit the home again at around noon, to play one-on-one Basketball with the son before leaving for Virginia. They met him in the lobby, and interviewed him about the missing property. He said he had nothing to do with the laptop being taken, and no laptop was found in the bag he carries with him, although he could offer no explanation as to what happened. The officers arrested and charged him with larceny, at around 12:30 p.m.
• Larceny in a building – Orange resident, Sean Pultorak aged 29. Police responded to a larceny at the Walgreens on Harvard Street, and found a suspect behind a dumpster at the St. Mary's church. An employee said she had confronted Pultorak who she says had been removing tags from items, and had fled with a shipping bin containing over $850 in merchandise. Police arrested and charged him with larceny and on an outstanding warrant for probation violation, at around 6:15 p.m.

• Warrant arrest - Lavell Brown, 24-year-old from Quincy. Police took a report of a stolen credit card from a woman who works at a Green Street restaurant. She says she stores her wallet in the cubbies at work, and when officers reviewed security footage and saw a subject they later identified as Brown opening the same locker three times. Officers also determined that he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Boston, and located him at his workplace, placing him under arrest and charging him on that warrant, at around 8 p.m.

• Disorderly Person – Brittany Singleton, a 22-year-old Waltham woman. Callers reported a fight in-progress at about 2:45 a.m. on Thursday morning. Police found that it was a woman who was trying to avoid paying a cab fare. Singleton was arrested for disorderly person, assault-and-battery, resisting arrest, and evading a taxi fare. 
• Attempted masked armed robbery – 18-year-old Allston man, Gianfranco Dy. A manager at the 99 Harvard Street Walgreens reported that after closing the store the night before, a he discovered a man inside the store wearing a bandana and sunglasses to obscure his face. He initially believed it was an employee playing a joke, but then noticed the man had a knife. Officers found a man matching the suspect's description waiting to catch a 66 bus near the Brookline Village T stop. They brought the man to the Walgreens for the manager to identify him, the manager reported that the clothing matched his descroption. Officers arrested the man, who identified himself as John Chen, although they later determined that this was a false name. He was arrested and charged with attempted masked armed robbery, trespassing, and assault-and-battery with a dangerous weapon, at around 11 p.m.

• Operating under the influence of alcohol – Dedham man, 21-year-old Richard Carroll was reportedly seen driving inbound on the outbound side of Beacon Street, and then taking a right onto Harvard Street. Officers pulled him over and determined that he had been drinking. He was arrested and charged with operating under the influence, violation of a one-way street, and failing to stop at a stop sign, at about 1:45 a.m.
• Protective custody – Police took 30-year-old Ciaran McEvoy of Brighton into protective custody after he was found attempting to enter a closed 7-11 store on Beacon Street. The manager had informed him the store was closed, and he walked in circles outside the front door aimlessly, at about 2:45 a.m.

• Operating under the influence of alcohol – Daniel Curley, a 38-year-old Auburndale man, was seen driving reportedly speeding at an estimated 70 miles per hour through the Washington Street intersection with Commonwealth Avenue at about 12:30 a.m., a time police say road conditions were slick. Police followed the Chevy Astro, and saw it make an abrupt lane change, which is when they attempted to pull the vehicle over. The driver did not attempt to stop, but carried on past St. Paul and Amory Streets, and eventually came to a halt near the BU bridge. Officers determined that the driver, Curley, had been drinking and arrested and charged him with speeding, operating to endanger, a red light violation, failing to stop, and operating under the influence of alcohol.  
• Possession of a class D drug with intent to distribute – Gregory Moore aged 20, Gabriel Albrizeh aged 19, Frances Roman aged 18, and Jean Delacruz aged 19, all of Worcester, were in a vehicle seen initially in the Brainerd and Royce Road area, at about 3:15 a.m. An officer in an unmarked cruiser saw some of the people inside passing a baggie similar to those used to conceal marijuana, and pulled the vehicle over. Despite the smell of burning marijuana, they initially denied having anything illegal in the car, until the officer informed them of what he'd seen. Officers searched the vehicle and found amounts of marijuana, paraphernalia, and baggies used in the distribution of marijuana. The vehicles passed a number of local elementary schools and day care centers. Officers arrested the four and charged them with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, a school zone violation, and conspiracy to commit a felony.
