Brookline Arrest Log: An Unexpected Houseguest

The following information was supplied by Brookline Police Dept. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following arrest report is based on reports for Aug 27 through Sept 3. Look for weekday incident reports each Saturday, weekend reports each Monday, and arrest logs each Tuesday on Brookline Patch. Suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

Wednesday, Aug. 29

  • Warrant arrest – Sean O'Connor, 48, of Quincy. Police were dispatched to 227 Babcock Street to serve an outstanding warrant for assault-and-battery, and assault-and-battery with a dangerous weapon. O'Connor was arrested and charged at about 8:30 a.m. on those outstanding warrants.
  • Trespassing – Anissa Carter, West Roxbury woman aged 21. Pine Manor Campus Security at 400 Heath Street contacted Brookline Police about a woman who was on campus, despite being told not to return or she would be subject to arrest. When police arrived, they attempted to speak with the woman, who ignored them, until they walked over and put a hand on her shoulder. Police say the woman, who they identified as Carter, turned around and hit an officer. Carter was arrested and charged with trespassing and resisting arrest.

Sunday, Sept. 2

  • Warrant arrest – 25-year-old Dearro Brown of Dorchester. Police saw a man hitchhiking near Pine Manor College, on Heath Street before 5 a.m., and stopped to speak with him--saying that he appeared to be lost and was hitchhiking. He told police he had been spending time with a female friend, and was hoping to catch a ride back to Dorchester. After checking his license and information, they determined he had an outstanding warrant for charges of assault-and-battery and larceny under $250. Police arrested and charged him on those outstanding warrants.

Monday, Sept. 3

  • Protective custody – Police were sent to Thorndike Street for a suspicious person around the back of their home. When police arrived, they spoke to a man matching the description, who they say was intoxicated, and claimed he lived on Park Avenue in Boston, and was hoping that the resident of the home would let him sleep on the floor, despite not knowing him. He was placed under protective custody.

What's with the naked guy on a motorcycle. I have now had 3 sightings of a 60'ish fellow with long white hair and a beard down to his chest, riding around Brookline (twice on Beacon Street; once on Route 9 near the reservoir) with nothing on but what appears to be a homemade loincloth. Has anyone else seen him? Who is he and does he ever put his pants on?

... I thought I was the only person who had seen him. I also assumed I was hallucinating. I think I saw him droving past the Police Department one morning. He seems to be getting away with A) covering his unmentionables, and B) being such a baffling sight that people almost don't believe he exists. That is an untested hypothesis, however.
