Breaking: Person Stabbed in Attempted Robbery Near Longwood Station

Police are searching for the suspect, a white male in his early 30s, who fled toward Longwood Street.

Update at 2:20 p.m.: The Boston Police Department press office has confirmed that the stabbing victim is a male. His condition is unknown. He was transported to Brigham and Women's Hospital.

A man was stabbed during an armed robbery attempt around noon in the area of Riverway and Longwood Avenue near the Longwood train station.

Brookline Police, along with State and Transit police, are searching for the suspect, described as a white male in his early 30s about 5'9." The man was wearing a gray skull cap, a black and white tank top with a U.S. flag on it and dark-colored shorts. He has a tattoo on his right arm. The suspect fled toward Longwood Street, according to reports.

The exact location of the stabbing is still being investigated, but police report the incident occured on the Boston side of the river.

The victim's injuries are unknown at this time. Nothing was taken in the attempted robbery, according to the police alert.
