Thank you to everyone who helped to make the League's Brookline Votes 2012 Campaign a success!

Thank you to Brookline people who worked on the League of Women Voters Brookline Votes 2012 Campaign

Election 2012 is history.  Voter turnout in Brookline was higher than 2008, even with fewer registered voters.  Citizen participation in the electoral process is crucial to the health of our democracy, and Brookline has again demonstrated its commitment to that ideal.

The League of Women Voters of Brookline is celebrating the end of its successful, far-reaching Brookline Votes 2012 Campaign. The goal was to provide nonpartisan voting and election information throughout Brookline in a variety of formats.

The centerpiece of our "Your Vote is Your Voice" Campaign was a one-stop, nonpartisan website with complete voting and election information (vote2012info.com).  On Election Day, the website had over 32,000 views!

Our Campaign developed a Facebook page; conducted over 15 voter registration sessions, distributed displays, posters, and fliers, provided electronic election alert service, co-sponsored debate watches at Newbury College and Pine Major College, recruited BHS students to be poll workers, prepared public service announcements at BATV; and encouraged Coolidge Corner Theatre to put an Election Day reminder on their marquee.

Many people in Brookline were part of the League’s effort.  They deserve thanks and recognition for their part to encourage voting.  Here they are:
