Mountain Laurel – Appalachian Music from the North and South

Lorraine and Bennett Hammond will perform songs from their most recent release, 'The Opal Ring', on the Snowy Egret label.

The Hammonds are skilled entertainers, and this event will feature a lively assortment of traditional American instruments and songs. Enjoy five-string banjo, Appalachian dulcimer, Celtic harp, acoustic guitar, mandolin, and a vast repertoire of traditional and contemporary songs, tunes and ballads.

The Hammonds play and sing in perfect complement: blending their instruments with consummate skill, they create a new voice for music that ranges in style from classical through Celtic, blues and contemporary. The joy they take in their music is contagious, and their flair for tailoring their selection of songs and tunes for individual audiences lends a lively freshness to each performance.
