Care partnering between a caregiver and person with Alzheimer’s disease will bring moments of pain, celebration, fear, and joy – days of saying “This is the best thing I’ve ever done.” and days of saying “Get me out of here.”

Care partners can learn to listen to messages from deep within as spoken words become more difficult and care partners can learn to offer the kind of loving care that transcends illness and applauds humanness.

Join us to hear techniques for caring for the caregiver as well as the patient.

Joanne Koenig-Coste, President of Alzheimer’s Consulting Associates, is an author and international consultant to healthcare providers and an outspoken advocate for AD patients and families. A recipient of numerous awards worldwide, she has appeared in media venues including the NBC Today Show, NPR’s Talk of the Nation and The New York Times. Joanne will also preview her upcoming books, a collection of her own poetry, and for caregivers, I’m Fine (Frustrated, Isolated, Numb, Exhausted).

Goddard House has been at the forefront of serving the needs of older adults since 1849, when we opened the first not-for-profit home for elders in Massachusetts. Learn more about Olmsted Place, our Alzheimer’s memory support program at: www.goddardhouse.org
