Big Screen Classics: LAWRENCE OF ARABIA
The Coolidge is proud to present the new digital restoration of one of the most sweeping epics in film history.
Based on the life and exploits of T.E. Lawrence (played immaculately by newcomer Peter O'Toole) during World War I, Lawrence of Arabia is ultimately a meditation on the meaning of war and freedom. Lawrence, a misfit British Army lieutenant, is sent to assist Arab Prince Faisal (Alec Guinness) in his revolt against the Turks. As he develops a kinship with Price Faisal and the plight of the Arab National Council, he soon becomes a military leader for the guerrilla attacks against Turkish targets and a beloved iconoclast.
